GomSpace Joins Danish Project to Advance Small-Satellite Antenna Performance

GomSpace
is proud to participate in the LUNA project (Low-loss Multiband Nanosatellite Antennas with High Gain and Mechanical Beam Steering), a groundbreaking initiative that is paving the way for the next generation of high-performance
nanosatellites
. Supported by leading Danish research and industrial partners, LUNA aims to revolutionize
satellite communication
through advanced
antenna
technology combining low signal loss, superior gain, and intelligent beam steering.
For GomSpace customers, this means more integrated, ready-to-use communication solutions with less integration complexity and better performance in small satellite form factors.
Participation in LUNA strengthens GomSpace’s leadership in advanced communication systems and aligns with the company’s strategic focus on expanding its technology portfolio toward high-value, scalable solutions. This project reinforces GomSpace’s competitive position in the global
small satellite
market.
LUNA is a collaborative effort between
Aalborg University
,
Pri-Dana Elektronik A/S
, and GomSpace A/S. Together, these partners are combining research excellence with industrial execution capability to commercialize a new generation of nanosatellite antennas capable of supporting communication, navigation, and data transmission within a single integrated platform.
This project underscores Denmark’s role as a center of excellence for space innovation and highlights
GomSpace’s contribution to building a more connected and energy-efficient space infrastructure
. The total LUNA budget is M.DKK 21.1over three years, including an investment of M.DKK 14.9 from Innovation Fund Denmark. GomSpace’s share is M.DKK 8 (M.SEK 11.4).
