专刊简介
面向2035年的信息社会,6G通信、人工智能、云计算、沉浸式交互等新型应用将持续推动网络业务形态和承载需求快速演进,光网络正面临容量扩展、低时延传输、能效优化、灵活调度与智能协同等多方面的新要求。随着现有体系在带宽、架构和系统实现层面逐步逼近既有技术边界,未来光网络的发展需要突破单点器件或单层系统优化的传统路径,进一步面向材料、光纤、器件、系统与网络架构开展跨层协同设计与整体演进研究。
本专刊聚焦未来光网络关键技术与发展路线,面向相关领域征集高质量研究论文、综述和前瞻性成果。重点关注新型光纤与波导技术、下一代光器件与光子集成、超宽带与空分复用传输系统,面向数据中心和智算场景的高速光互连、新型光交换系统、光通信与计算融合网络,通信感知一体化系统、绿色低碳网络基础设施,以及太赫兹、中红外、可见光、量子安全等前沿方向。专刊旨在汇聚未来光网络在基础材料、关键器件、系统实现与网络架构等层面的最新进展,推动构建面向2035年的高容量、低时延、高智能、可持续光网络技术体系。我们期待汇聚该领域在基础理论、关键器件、系统实现与网络架构方面的突破性成果,推动未来光网络在容量扩展、传输效率、智能协同与绿色可持续等方面实现实质性提升,加快相关技术从基础研究、原型验证到规模应用的转化进程。

Prof. Shaohua Yu

Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor of Pengcheng Laboratory
Yu Shaohua was elected as an academician of the CAE in 2015. He has long been engaged in the research of new generation optical networks, optical chips, 6G photonics and data center optical interconnection. He is one of the pioneers in the integration of SDH (synchronous digital system) and Internet (including Ethernet) and has made pioneering contributions to the internetlization of SDH transmission network in the world. He served as the director of the State Key Laboratory of Optical Fiber Communication Technology and Network, from 2008 to 2021, the director of the Expert Committee of the National Information Optoelectronics Innovation Center, and from 2018 to 2021, he served as the chief scientist of the national "973 Plan" project. Relevant achievements were listed in China's top ten science and technology progress news. He has published 4 monographs, 313 papers (including 19 with impact factors exceeding 10), and applied for 106 invention patents (including 7 US patents for the sole inventor). From 1998 to 2004, he proposed and led the development of 5 international standards. From 2005 to now, he has jointly proposed and participated in the development of 19 ITU-T standards.
As a single inventor, his patent has won one China Invention Patent Gold Award, two Excellence Awards, and three National Information Industry Major Technological Inventions. As the first author, he has won two National Technology Invention Second Prizes and two National Science and Technology Progress Second Prizes. Yu has awarded the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the National Outstanding Professional and Technical Talent Award, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, the National Intellectual Property Leading Talent Award, the National Excellent Science and Technology Worker Award, the highest science and technology award in Hubei Province, and the National Model Worker title.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the China Communications Society, Director of the Optical Communication Committee, Leader of the National Key R&D Program Information Photon Expert Group, Member of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, Member of the Discipline Evaluation Group (Information and Communication Engineering) of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. Currently serving as a standing committee member (2018-) and deputy director (2022-) of the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering, Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Prof. Connie Chang-Hasnain

Connie Chang-Hasnain is X.Q. Deng Presidential Chair Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and Chairperson of Berxel Photonics. Prof. Chang-Hasnain received her PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1987. She previously served as Associate Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, John R. Whinnery Chair Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, and Co-Director of the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute. She is an international member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the U.S. National Academy of Inventors, and a Fellow of IEEE, IEE, and Optica. Her research has made seminal contributions to the physics, design, materials, and applications of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), helping establish VCSELs as a dominant technology in multimode fiber optics, optical coherence tomography, and 3D sensing. Her honors include the IEEE Nick Holonyak, Jr. Medal for Semiconductor Optoelectronic Technologies, IEEE David Sarnoff Award, the Okawa Prize, the Welker Award, and the UNESCO Medal for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Development. She has also played major leadership roles in the international photonics community, including serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Lightwave Technology from 2007 to 2012 and as 2021 President of the Optical Society of America, now Optica.

Prof. Nan Chi

Executive Dean of the College of Future Information Technology, University of Fudan
Nan Chi is Professor and Executive Dean of the College of Future Information Technology at Fudan University. Her research interests include wireless–optical network convergence, all-optical signal processing, advanced modulation formats, and their applications in optical fiber and visible light communications. She has authored or co-authored more than 400 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, with over 18,100 citations and an h-index of 63 according to Google Scholar. She has also co-authored seven monographs, including LED-Based Visible Light Communication (Springer, 2018). Since 2020, she has been continuously recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Elsevier and Clarivate and was included in the Global Top 2% Scientists List from 2023 to 2025. She has delivered more than 50 invited and keynote talks at major international conferences, including OFC, ECOC, SPIE Photonics West, and LiFi Congress. Her work has resulted in 55 granted Chinese patents and multiple technology transfers in telecom networks, industrial wireless systems, and underwater optical wireless communications. She currently serves as Associate Editor of Photonics Research and IEEE Photonics Journal, and as Topical Editor of Chinese Optics Letters.

Dr. Zhixue He

Researcher, Peng Cheng Laboratory
Zhixue He is a Researcher in Peng Cheng Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and joined Peng Cheng Laboratory in March 2022. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Optical Systems Research Laboratory at the State Key Laboratory of Optical Communication Technologies and Networks, China Information and Communications Technology Group Co., Ltd. His Research Interests is Ultra-high-speed, ultra-large-capacity, ultra-long-haul optical fiber communication systems. He has published more than 150 academic papers and filed over 80 invention patents.

Prof. Junwen Zhang

Professor, College of Future Information Technology, Fudan University
Junwen Zhang is a Professor at the College of Future Information Technology, Fudan University. He is a recipient of the National and Shanghai Overseas High-Level Talents (Youth) Programs and currently serves as Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Electromagnetic Wave Information Science. He has led multiple national research projects, including the Youth Scientist Project of the National Key R&D Program of China, as well as NSFC Key and General Programs. His research focuses on high-speed optical transmission, optical interconnection and access networks, and optical–wireless integrated communications. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and has delivered more than 60 invited talks at major international conferences.
