Welcome, humans.
Google has an AI music studio you can use right now, and most people don't know it exists.
It's called
Flow Music
. It lives inside Google Labs, it's powered by
Google's Lyria 3 model
, and it started life as a startup called Producer AI (advised by The Chainsmokers, no less). Google acquired the team in February 2026.
So how good is the actual product? Can you write a song from a single sentence? Generate a music video? Build your own custom synthesizer?
We had to find out for ourselves.

In
our latest episode
, Corey sat down with
Kendall Rankin
, who left LinkedIn in 2024 to join Producer AI when it was still a startup, and who's now part of the Flow Music team at Google.
Together, they generated a garage rock song about AI from scratch, queued up a music video, and walked through the messy middle of working with an AI music agent.
Watch it now to see:
(04:16)
The live demo:
Flow Music takes "garage rock song about AI" and turns it into actual music with lyrics, fuzz guitar, and background vocals. The first pass fumbles, the second pass nails it. That iteration loop is the whole story.
(12:35)
"Spaces" explained:
Flow Music's custom-app feature, where you can build your own instruments and synthesizers (think a mini keyboard or a custom plugin you'd drop into Pro Tools or whatever DAW you use).
(18:30)
The artist question:
Kendall's framing for why AI music tools are a new medium, not a replacement, and how YouTube's industry relationships shape what gets built into the product.
(32:03)
SynthID
(Google's invisible audio watermarking, baked into every Lyria 3 output) and how it's supposed to protect creators once AI-generated music starts circulating online.
(33:38)
One-shot music videos:
how Veo (Google's video model) turns your song into a full music video in about ten minutes, with the AI asking for creative direction along the way.
Why watch this?
Most AI music demos hand you a polished finished song and skip the part where things go sideways. This one
is
the part where things go sideways. You see the first generation fumble on background vocals, watch Corey ask for "more fuzz," and see the second pass actually land. That's the part anyone considering these tools actually cares about: how iterable is this thing in practice?
Plus, Kendall has been on the inside since the Refusion days through the Google acquisition. Hearing how a music AI startup thinks about working
with
artists (instead of replacing them) is rare context for anyone trying to figure out where this category is headed.

TODAY'S EPISODE IS SPONSORED BY DELL AI FACTORY

When we talk about AI in the enterprise, there's this huge wave of optimism. 84% of business leaders say AI is going to transform their industry. That's massive.
But here's the reality: 93% are struggling to actually make it work. That's the gap. And that's exactly what
Dell AI Factory
is built to close.
Dell calls it the world's broadest AI portfolio, and that's not marketing fluff. We're talking everything from AI-ready PCs to servers, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure, all designed to work together. They've already helped implement over
3,000 real-world AI deployments
. So this is proven, operational AI.
And they don't just drop hardware at your doorstep and wish you luck. Dell brings expert services at every stage (strategy, deployment, scaling) so you're not stuck in pilot mode wondering why nothing's moving.
If your organization believes AI is the future but you're still trying to bridge that execution gap,

OpenAI's new Workspace Agents
(
they’re actually pretty sick)
and what they mean for the future of work.
We'll cover what workspace agents are, how they differ from regular chatbots, where they fit into real team workflows, and how to start working with them effectively.
Expect a practical, hands-on deep dive into agentic AI, workplace automation, and the shift from one-off prompts to repeatable AI-powered processes.
Whether you're experimenting with ChatGPT at work, leading AI adoption, or just trying to understand where OpenAI is taking agents next, this session will help you see what's possible and what to watch for.
