Meet the AI vision Realbotix Vinci robot
AI and humanoid robot manufacturer,
Realbotix
, has unveiled its first Vinci integrated humanoid robot in partnership with
Ericsson
, using AI vision that can outperform many humans, with the ability to recognise people, remember conversations, and monitor engagement.
Vinci, Realbotix’s AI vision and eye tracking technology, can maintain eye contact, gain attention, and build connections. The robotics detect motion and identify objects and colours, and are able to respond to situations on the spot in realtime, the company says.
With in-eye cameras that let real-time environmental understanding, the robot has no social anxiety, being able to respond in ways that fit the exact situation, keeping conversations natural and engaging. The Vinci system is not limited one robot as it can be installed in all Robotix models in the company’s range.
Vinci’s abilities are not centred around its human-robotic connections. Vinci-driven robots can also help solve certain business challenges, improving efficiency, and gathering insights. They’re particularly effective in customer-facing roles rather than undertaking manual labour, and certainly draw attention to a feature or product the owner may want to emphasise.
State of the art AI data collection from humans the robots interact with is driven by a host of features, including behavioural tracking, an identity layer, emotional signal capture, and engagement analytics that rely on clinical trials and data comparisons.
Andrew Kiguel, CEO of Realbotix, said, “The launch of Vinci with our customer, Ericsson, is an important step forward in bringing visually aware humanoid robots into real-world enterprise settings. Embedding cameras directly in the robot’s eyes allows the system to make and maintain eye contact for natural interaction with people and surroundings.”
Realbotix hopes its Vinci humanoid robots, equipped with what some might consider an unnerving eye contact, but with a degree of social awareness, may become a cornerstone of customer engagement, helping training initiatives and delivering important business information. Or just a chat about weekend plans – the possibilities are endless. Just don’t look away.
